Lou Reed was my first weirdo-artist obsession, which I later discovered was true for a great many people. I wish this story involved discovering The Velvet Underground & Nico and turning on to a world of offbeat possibilties ... but the sad fact is "Mistrial" was my first Lou Reed album. It's not his best work, but it was good enough at the time, though just barely. I own a 12" of "Original Wrapper", which is only slightly less embarassing than those two vinyl copies of the "Howard the Duck" soundtrack on the shelf next to it. Anyhoo, this piece is an ode to that ear of pop culture and Reed's own dabbling with mainstream acceptance.
This print is 12" x 12" (the size of an album cover) and printed on 110 lbs. gloss card stock. I've also hit it with a dusting of phosphorescent paint, so that it will lightly glow in the darkness.
