You could make a movie out of almost any Blue Oyster Cult song. From the very beginning their music and lyrics are layered in conflict and mystery, daring listeners to draw conclusions about what they were listening to. This one was a no brainer, which required me to take a step back ... because there's ALREADT a movie poster attached to their song "Vengeance: The Pact." The band's 1981 album "Fire of Unknown Origin" is almost a companion piece to the movie "Heavy Metal," with a number of tracks from the album submitted for inclusion in the film. "Veteran of the Psychic Wars" was the song ultimately used, but "Vengeance" summarizes the movie's final segment involving Taarna. She's the bad b!tc# on the movie poster. So instead of something that duplicates that effort, it felt proper to highlight that era of head shops and comic stores in all of its ziptone, hypersexual, fever dream glory.
