You could make a movie out of almost any Blue Oyster Cult song. From the very beginning their music and lyrics are layered in conflict and mystery, daring listeners to draw conclusions about what they were listening to. Here is my conclusion about the title track to 1974's "Flaming Telepaths," a song about ... maybe flaming telepaths? Drug addiction? Both? Anyhoo, I saw this movie along the lines of David Cronenberg's Scanners, but didn't want to do a straight rip-off of that poster. Sure, I "borrowed" liberally ... but this is more "white collar crime" than "armed robbery."
