1998's "Blade" might be the last vampire movie that I really loved. There have been a few high points here and there since, bit nothing that really cleaned my clock like this unexpected gem. Wesley Snipes created a character that can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Clint Eastwood's The Man With No Name, the kind of antihero that would be the villain in other other film. During the movie's opening seqeuence (the "Blood Rave") it establishes a class of villains so awful that anything Blade might do to them feels justified ...
